Danubleu Mini Smooth Dachshunds Puppies 
Danubleu is a small high quality miniature smooth dachshunds breeder and we have a litter once/twice a year. Our puppy are raise in a familial environment. They are born in their own rooms with the mother and then living and playing in the kitchen with us. All puppies are from Canadians champions parents or Canadians and Americains since more then 6 generations Puppies coming from champions parents are conceived under a strick selective breeding program in order to breed healthier dogs good in temperament and structure conform to the breed standard. They are CKC registred, registred microchip with a number from CKC, puppy shots given by a veterinary, health check up and confirmation by the veterinary. They are de-worms, socialized, pipi pad trained and raised with tender love in a family environment. The pet puppies are sold with non reproduction contract and we offer a one year guaranty on all genetic desease Also, we are always here to provide judicious advices to the new owner after the puppy been adopt. Puppies are 20 days old on this picture. The black and tan puppy female "Natasha" Ch Grandgables Ms Star N Danubleu finish her Ca championship at the tender age of 9 months old and she is a multi puppy group and multi group placements.  Zorro/Boris 4 months old living with his new owner Mrs Lyne in Chicoutimi. Here some little advices, tips and things to know for the new Dachshund puppy owner. Food: One important thing that I might place in priority is the diet. Dachshunds have all their sense extremely develop in order to be able to do the work they been breed to that is hunting badgers, rabbits, in digging into the ground. Their eyesight, hearing, and not the least their sense of smell is highly extended. For that said they are greedy, they just love eating. It is especially important not to over feed a Dachshund in his entirely life. For any kind of dogs it is the same requirement but because of his distinctive structure too much weight can lead to back problems. I would also suggest giving the daily portion divided by 3 during the day and if it’s not possible morning and night is ok too. They eat fast and a big portion can hurt their stomach. The food I use is a brand that been tested and approved by AAFCO "The Association of American Feed Control Officials" and it is sold at the veterinary. The brand name is Medi-Cal by Royal Canin. Médi-Cal Development formula or Pro Series puppy food : For an optimal development to puppies until 6 months . Pro series adult maintenance : The limited quantity of high quality proteins of this formula permited to maximized the renal and liver fonctions and the addition of Omega 3 because of the fish food from Maritmes and antioxydant help to lower down the effect of olderness and give a luxurius fur. Médi-Cal Formula for theeth and gums: For perfect thooth and heathy gums. This 2 brand names food are prepared, tested and approved in order to meet the minimum nutritional requirements a dog food must be. It is not appropriate to give human food and even little pieces. On an other hand fruit like strawsberry, small piece of apple, or cottage chese and carrot is very good. Concerning over all humain food , dogs stomach are built to digest human food beside some fuit and vegetables and there is too much calories any how. When a dog gets overweight the fat not only fills in the flesh but in the vital organ as well like the liver, heart and can be very destructive for his health. Even though the dog treats doesn’t have to meet the AFFCO requirements, I do not give my dogs the cookies that is sold in pet store. I’m buying the vegetables low fat cookies that are found in the veterinary office. They are quite the same price and as tastier but lower in fat. A lean and muscle dachshund is a happier and healthier companion not to mention a lot better looking. Personality: The Dachshund’s hunting heritage as shaped this dog as distinctive in personality as in appearance. Even though they are companions today, they retains the conformation and temperament of a hunter. To ignore these traits so integral to his being is to ignore his very soul. Generations of selection for a bold, energetic, inquisitive hunting dog had produced a strong-willed dog that has his own ideas about the best function as a companion. His gene tells him what to do because as a badger dog he must: - Make his decisions when deep underground. He must be independent and self-directed even when his owner commands otherwise. - Be tenacious in the face of adversity - Bark with vigour and stamina - Solve problems (even if that problems is how to escape from the yard) - Be anxious to go underground, (even if that means getting stuck under the porch and riddling the yard with holes). Happily the Dachshund is a perfect companion as he is a hunter. He is lovely, compassionate, playful, smart, affectionate, devoted, and witty and has a non-stop sense of humour. They sometimes have a toy that they are strongly attach too. They will bring this toy everywhere they go and look for it when it is not behind them. Romeo has a little squeeze orange dragon. He chews on it and he never had destroyed this one contrary to others. When he goes outside he brings his little dragon with him, leave it at some place he knows and brings it back into the house. They are not stubborn like some say but tenacious. They are exuberant in their affections and they just want to be an active participant member of the family. They get along well with other dogs, particularly others Dachshunds and having other dog will not diminish your dog’s love for you and may help problems such as separation anxiety. They can also be great pal with cats. I would of course not suggest a rodents, hamster or rabbit pet because of their hunting heritage. Housetraining: Contrary of what I hear sometimes Dachshunds are very easy to housetrain if it’s done the right way. The Dachshund like their space clean and the male would even try to hide their fences with the news papers. Romeo does this all the time when he did not have the chance to go outside. This is part of his hunting heritage that are not permit them to leave a trace therefore they aren't being seen by a prey. Playing it Safe: Don’t underestimate the audacity and curiosity of your new dachshund puppy even at 3 months old. Never let alone a puppy inside or outside with out supervision or a secure fence area. They need to see and chew everything. Not only your nice expensive leather shoes but electrical cords of your TV, lamp,.. . They might investigate parts of your house that you would even know stuff where there. The can eat his own body weight in garbage (puppy and adult) .They can damage things and themselves .They can jump from the table or fall down the stairs. In the backyard check for poisonous plants, bushes with sharp, broken branches at the Dachshunds level eyes. Be aware. I had Shih Tzu’s all my life and I saw a clear difference. The Dachshund temperament that is courageous to the point of rashness makes the puppies more curious and eager for adventure that might lead to a sad accident.I do not want to discourage the future owner but I simply want to re enforce the prudence with their new little one. Male or female: Male and female are as much adorable and full of happiness. However, I did observed some little differences in their behaviour. Like the human, male produce male hormone and female feminine hormone. That been said I had notice that male is lightly more devoted to one person that he considered the “chief of the pack” in hierarchy. He like a lot to be coddles and be the center of attention when he wants. The female on her side take care of everybody in each other turn including the others animals of the family. She is mommy with everyone and as much intrepid but more incline to give everybody attention. Nevertheless she is sometimes a little more jalous or possesive of her things. Curiously Romeo often brings toys to the females for make them play and for them to follow him. And it is working. The female is also more inclined to « steal » males toys or object and keep them in her possession . Whatever the sex , to socialized your puppy at a young age will play an important role for their future. When your puppy had received all his shots it is important to bring him gradually to publics places, friends and put them in presence of other strange dogs with caution. More then often at 3 months old they are not scared of anything but can be more scarred and shy at around 6 months. This is temporary because they are more aware of danger they are also like little teenager. Usually if your dog is always in contact with strangers like he is use too, everything will be back in place at around 8, 9 or 10 months. Hope I been a help with those informations and I must say that I’m lurning myself each day about them and Dachshunds are for me a wonderful fascinating companion and I am totally fund of them.
